We then sell these gifts to families in our community for 70—90% off the retail price. That’s a $20 gift for $2-$6! The proceeds go back into the development of the store to further meet the needs of the community. The store seeks to utilize the Christmas holiday to serve the Central Detroit area with affordable Christmas gifts and necessities.
The store will be held on December 17, 2011. We hope that many of you can join us for a fantastic day of celebrating Christ’s birth together.
On December 18th, 2010, over 200 families experienced great joy at the Pride for Parents Christmas Store. With the help of over 250 volunteers, the store was open for one day, all day, and the shoppers kept coming. Not only did we sell out of donated goods, but, we were also able to gift wrap items and each family that came was able to leave with a food basket! Many thanks to all of the churches and organizations that gave their time and donated gifts for the store to make it a blessing to all that came!
The Christmas Store depends on our partners to donate cash, new toys and household items to make this program a success. Below is a list of suggested items that would make a wonderful donation to the Christmas Store.
