Manufacturers, retailers, churches, individuals and other corporate donors supply Central Detroit Christian CDC’s Restoration Warehouse with daily essentials, school and office supplies, household items, and building materials—all aimed at improving the quality of life for families battling the damaging effects of poverty. Having collected these items, inventoried them and stored them in a way similar to any store (shelving and aisles), we opened the Warehouse to the public in July 2010. With very limited advertising and marketing— we passed out flyers twice, the Warehouse became wildly successful. The community loved it and embraced it. Several members of the community wanted to volunteer and did. Restoration Warehouse is able to bountifully supply the needs of so many.
We have first-rate overstock or last year’s product, or discontinued items or returned items not put back on the floor from our generous donors. This past year we received over $612,000 in donated product and our goal is to see that the goods are distributed to those in greatest need.
These materials are available at a nominal handling fee so that central Detroit residents and Detroit residents in general can improve and/or create decent, affordable housing.
8735 Second Ave.,Detroit, MI | Open: April – November every other Saturday from 9am – 1pm (Please note that the Warehouse is closed in May due to roof repairs)
