Saturday Tutoring
A little extra attention
From October to June, CDC continues its third year of Saturday tutoring classes twice a month. Ten children experienced the joy of learning (on Saturdays!) through one-on-one attention from their own personal tutors. Some highlights of the past year include increased reading comprehension and vocabulary, memorization of multiplication tables, and reinforcement of addition and subtraction facts. A trained math specialist meets individually with each child to assess their skills as well. Children involved in this intensive tutoring program are enrolled because they are more than two grades behind academically. We are seeing great improvement in their lives thanks to the investment by their tutors who come from the Vineyard Church in Ann Arbor.
