Job Training
Workforce Training Program

Developing new workers
CDC continues to have a vital impact in the area of employment training by preparing teens and young adults for jobs, informing them of placement opportunities and providing jobs. This past year our Workforce Training Program provided job readiness training to prepare participants for the workforce.

We selected 40 young people in the past year to engage in a multi-faceted program where they received not only work experience, but also mentorship and training that will equip them for a life of service and employment. There was intentional on-the job training, computer training, and resume critique. Our businesses, Mr. Fo'Fo's/The Freeze and Peaches & Greens give practical application and authentic learning to the classroom training. During the program, we connect students with mentors who helped them in their transition from this program to their next job or educational experience. This enabled us to provide a comprehensive support system designed to enable the new employees to keep their jobs and remain successful in the workplace. Thanks to our new partnership with McDonald’s we were able to find employment for a majority of our graduates as well.
