Learning through the Summer
Through Federal stimulus funds, we have been able to partner with the City Connect Detroit to hire 14-24 year olds from our communities (48202, 48206) for six weeks during the summer. Each of the trainees must go through an application and interview process for the opportunity to learn and grow with us for the summer. Last summer we were able to hire 30 young people for this program.

In 2010, we will again be hiring young people, but they must first go through the process of application with City Connect Detroit. Please see this link if you are interested in applying.

These teens get to experience an adapted version of our Workforce Training Program. A few of the trainees are placed in our business ventures, but the majority serve as Summer Staff for our Breakthrough Day Camp program. As ministry assistants, they also receive discipleship in Biblical knowledge and living.

What a great opportunity this is for us to have young workers to assist our summer efforts and also for each of them to be able to earn a small paycheck and gain valuable work skills.
