Christmas Store
Volunteers and Shoppers

2009 Store Information
The Pride for Parents Christmas Store was held on December 12, 2009 at Metropolitan United Methodist Church. Over 200 families were served and empowered. THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who participated in the store.

If you have any feedback for us, please feel free to share it with us in the coming weeks. We could not have accomplished this great ministry without YOU!

Mobilizing the Team

Getting involved in the Community Store is quite a change from Christmas Baskets to which many are accustomed. It's harder to give gifts without the personal touch of delivering them to the families, but we want to enable parents to provide for their children. Thank you for opening up your hearts to participating in this new program that seeks to build dignity not dependency. There are lots of ways to get involved. Consider one of the options we have here or work with us on new creative ideas!

Resource Donation Print out our list of resources that the Community Store needs and pick up the gifts on your next shopping trip. We will work with churches and businesses to coordinate picking up these items.

Cash Donation We can use your cash donations to purchase items in bulk. You can send checks payable to Central Detroit Christian to: Central Detroit Christian 88840 Second Ave. Detroit, MI 48202

Holiday Party You may be planning on having friends and family over to celebrate the season. Why not ask each invitee to bring along gifts that you could donate to the Christmas Store. It could be a theme party.

Small Groups Bible study groups, Sunday School classes, sports teams, youth groups, take on sponsoring food baskets or setting a goal to reach for collecting items needed.
